KL Tower Hi Tea

Fancy having a feast a few thousand feet above sea level?  Head to Kuala Lumpur Tower (or fondly known as KL Tower), then!

KL Tower is one of KL's two most prominent landmarks (the other one being Petronas Twin Tower 0r KLCC) and is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital.  Opened in October 1996 and it's 421 meters and is the seventh tallest communication tower in the world. Hebat tu.. Malaysia boleh maa.. For more details, you can check out its website here...

Selamat Datang ke Menara Kuala Lumpur

Okay ... now over to a more interesting topic. FOOD! The place to be in KL Tower is of course the revolving restaurant (restoran berputar), ie Restoran Sri Angkasa.   The restaurant serves the usual buffets for lunch, dinner, high tea and ala carte too.

So, satu hari tu sempatlah pergi try hi tea dia dengan gang-gang kaki makan saya. Not bad lah.  Here are some of the foods served during that particular hi tea ....

I love crumbles - apple, peach, blueberry, semualah suka.
But this is the first time I try pineapple crumble.
Verdict : kureng mengancam. The sourness of the pineapple
is not very appealing in the crumble.
A close-up of my pineapple crumble.

The fruit platter. Nothing extraordinary about it.

Their desserts sure are lovely to look at.
Tastewise? Ada yang sedap, ada yang kurang.

'Rabbit food' pun ada.
For the trying-to-stay-slim individuals...

More finger foods and cold cuts...

Aaahh.. my kind of veges.
Ada brocolli kalu, sudah cukup buat gue happy...

Vegetable lasagne?
Garfield would not be happy...

My plate.... (=

Besides the yummy foods, the scenery is something that must
be savoured too. On a clear day, the view is totally breathtaking.
You can have a clear view of KL city from the restaurant itself.

The other KL's landmark - the Twin Tower.
Majestically towering above the other buildings in KL.

Sikit peringatan ni.
 1) Restaurant tu memang berpusing. It is after all a revolving restaurant.  And one does get dizzy up there especially if you keep staring at the floor.  Mau keluar balik isi perut dibuatnya. But the remedy is so very simple : don't look at the floor! hehe...

2) Jangan letak barang2 anda kat lantai tepi2 dinding kaca tu.  Do not leave your belongings on the  floor against the glass wall (yang menghadap ke luar tu). That part of the floor does not rotate with the rest of the restaurant.  So if you leave your things there (esp the ladies yang selalu letak handbag kat tepi tu), your things will still remain there when the resto rotates.  At the end of the day, you kelam kabut coz you don't remember where you put your barang.  Kenalah 'tawaf' satu restoran.  Kalau nasib baik, jumpa.  Kalau tak, selamatlah jawabnya...

Anyway, despite the dizziness and the case of misplaced items, Sri Angkasa KL Tower is still a nice place to go.  Boleh pergi lagi ni... :)))
